The Artist’s Way Journey – Week 6: Recovering a Sense of Abundance

Or: money complicated but we can find joy in life’s little luxuries

It’s been a while but I’m finally back with an update! You can also read my previous posts about my Artist’s Way Journey.

The Artist’s Way Journey – Week 5: Recovering a Sense of Possibility

The main focus in Week 5 of The Artist’s Way was confronting and overcoming our own excuses and creative blocks by examining the payoffs and costs of remaining stuck and the ways we limit ourselves.

This was a challenging week for me for the simple fact that there were so many other things in life that I needed or wanted to do, which, as we’ll see, is in itself a self-imposed block. … More The Artist’s Way Journey – Week 5: Recovering a Sense of Possibility

The Artist’s Way Journey – Week 4: Recovering a Sense of Integrity

The focus for Week 4 of The Artist’s Way was on introspection and self-awareness.
Personally, this week was a challenge. I think I had hit a point where I knew what needed to be done but the novelty of a starting over had worn off a bit. or: Reconciling my ideal life and the reality of time
In my previous post I discussed why I decided to re-start The Artist’s Way and my reflections on the first week.

Week 2 focused on figuring out what you truly value, whether the way you spend your time reflects your interests, and how to build a strong sense of personal identity that will help to resist the inevitable self-doubt that plagues creative people. … More The Artist’s Way Journey – Week 2: Recovering a Sense of Identity

Restarting The Artist’s Way – Week 1: Recovering a Sense of Safety

I mentioned briefly in my July monthly wrap-up that I decided to re-start The Artist’s Way as a way to refresh my creative life. Initially I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share here since creativity and writing can be an incredibly personal journey. However, I’ve been enjoying documenting the experience and decided that it would be valuable to have my reflections in a place where I can easily look back on them in years to come. Also, if sharing my experience helps someone else jumpstart their creative life, even better. … More Restarting The Artist’s Way – Week 1: Recovering a Sense of Safety
